We sell teas and herbs for drinking because we love to drink them ourselves. While coffee has its place, tea has long been our favorite, and we have also been mixing our own herbal blends for family ailments for years. They have always worked well, so it's not surprising that we have listed herbal tisanes among our beverages.
A long tradition in our family is to bring the children up to drink tea from a very young age, teaching them to sip the freshly brewed cup slowly so that the hot tea does not scald their soft lips and throats. This may shock modern mothers who are careful not to put young children into what seem to be dangerous situations but our children were always well supervised and taught mindfully, and we all grew up as a 'tea drinking' family. Even today, my young grand-daughters have reached for a cup of tea since an early age, as their version of happiness. In the early days of my own childhood, my Nanna would often brew a popular brand of black tea called Robur. I still remember the advertisements on the radio and televison, proclaiming 'Ahhh, Robur!' It still evokes the pleasant thought of a wonderfully refreshing cup of tea and I'm sure lies behind why I still love to come home to one, even after a long day out drinking cappucinos in cafes.
The teas we offer here are not so powerfully strong and robustly flavored as Robur tea was, then, but have more layers to explore and delight in. Robur tea may have started my journey but my tea drinking life has evolved since then and I don't drink anything like Robur today. Some people still love a cup of super strong black tea and that's okay. My husband still loves his extra strong brew in the mornings but reverts to the finer teas through the rest of the day, and while I love to explore and drink all our beverages there are times I want more of a quick hit, too - so teabags never really go out of fashion, even when the best teas are offered to tempt us. What I love about most of the teas we supply, though, is that you can get more than one cup or pot from each measure, which perhaps harkens, too, back to the days of Robur, which was first blended for the time of the Great Depression in the 1930s when people were eking their meager supplies and Robur was able to also be brewed more than once. Don't you always love a bargain ?
Since we can't possibly keep up with all the other elements in our business and make blends for you ourselves, we have called upon our wonderful suppliers to help us offer to you a range of teas, herbs, chais, and chocolates that merit interest because of their fine quality taste and output, the health giving properties inherent in them, and because they are created under ethical conditions that mean no one is forced to be a slave to labor, no one is underpaid in the manufacturing process, and no lands are threatened by overcultivation. These things mean a lot to us, and we believe that products made by holding to these considerations are going to have a much higher spiritual content than those cultivated in lesser circumstances that demean people or degrade our blessed planet Earth.
Our wonderful suppliers bring their offerings to our site with a range of black, green, and white teas, spicy chais, iced tea blends, fruit infusions and herbal tisanes to suffice your desire for a relaxing and inspirational beverage at any time of day. Good for your health, too !
